How much experience does Blazing Rock Productions have filming weddings?

Our Creative Director has been filming and editing weddings for five years now. A graduate of the Film Studies program at Oklahoma State University, she began by filming and editing wedding footage for friends while working on her degree.

Do you shoot in HD?

Yes! We have two cameras with HD capability and we are not afraid to use them!

Do you require a deposit? When do I have to pay?

A deposit of at least $200 is required to reserve your wedding date. The remaining balance is then divided in half. The first half is due the day of your wedding and the second half is due before we ship the DVDs.

How long does it take to get my DVD after the Wedding?

Typical turnaround time is 4-6 weeks. However, if your wedding is in the summer it can take as many as 8 weeks. Summer is our peak shooting time for the company as a whole, occasionally we’re on the road for 7-10 days at a time.

I’ve seen several companies talk about using two or three cameras to film the ceremony. Why do you need this and how does Blazing Rock Productions do it?

Shooting a ceremony with more than one camera allows the editor to switch back and forth between the different perspectives of each camera. Typically the “A” camera will be set up in the back of the auditorium. The second “B” camera will be set up to one side with a closer view of the bride and groom.

Blazing Rock Productions typically uses a two camera system. (Occasionally we will use three, depending on the venue.) The difference of how we shoot is in our “B” camera. Instead of leaving it on a tripod our Cinematographer is free to move the “B” cam. Much like a photographer she moves around the space (always respectfully, quietly, and usually unnoticed) finding alternative vantage points and adding multiple perspectives.

Many production companies I’ve seen do not list their prices online. Why does Blazing Rock Productions?

Simple. It frustrates us when we look for services or products online and cannot find pricing information.

How can you include more for the same price as other companies?

We can include more and lower your cost for two reasons.

1) We’re a smaller company. Our HD equipment fits in our Jeep and we can take it anywhere. Being smaller means fewer employees which results in less overhead.

2) We’re new to the “Wedding Industry”. Although we’ve been shooting weddings for five years, we’ve just now began to offer this service commercially and we want your business!

Other companies offer a 15-20 minute “Recap” of the Wedding day. Why doesn’t Blazing Rock Productions?

What they call “Recap” we call “Highlights,” but there is one difference. Our Highlights are not 15-20 minutes long. Our aim with your highlights video is to take the best moments, set them to music and make something you can share with your friends/family in around 5 minutes. This way it is easily posted online and you don’t feel like you’re forcing friends to watch “home movies” when you pop in your wedding DVD.

Do you do destination weddings?

Yes! However this is an area where we will have to discuss the details to provide you with an accurate quote. Please do not hesitate to send an email or call Karen at kamay86@hotmail.com or (405) 714-0079.
